Catching up with Dalton Wolfrum
Tinora Rams Dalton Wolfrum had a big game against Ayersville high school going 2-4 with 5 RBIs, and 1 BB, while also scoring 2 runs. I just knew I had to catch up with Dalton and ask him some questions about him and the team.
I started off by asking Dalton, “ So far how would you say the season is going so far?”
He responded with “So far I believe the season is going good, but there is always stuff that needs to be worked on.”
From this response, we moved on to more of a personal question. I asked, “What has been your favorite memory this year or in your high school career?”
He responded with “My best memory so far is playing against old teammates from opposing schools like Ayersville and Edgerton.” This was cool to hear knowing that these guys are competing against some of their closest friends.
I then asked Dalton “Do you have any plans yet for after high school?”
His response was “I would love to go to college for either baseball or wrestling but haven't decided on the school.”
I was curious to get an opinion from someone in the program about how this team compares to teams from the past. I asked him “How does this team differ from years past?”.
He responded with “Age and confidence, last year's team had a lot of confidence no matter the score, while this year everyone gets down on themselves which ends up hurting us.”
I finished up the interview by asking “What do you want your legacy to be for future Tinora baseball players?”
He responded with “I want my legacy to be a kid who worked his butt off, and one who had fun playing the sport he loves.” He also said, “I want to be known as a kid who had the guts to help others when they need it.”
